The Group / Identity / Profile

Ranked 4th in the motorway sector in Europe, the Sanef group operates and provides maintenance for a 1743 km network of motorways in the North (A1, A2, A16), the East (A4, A26) and Normandy (A13, A14, A29) through its subsidiary Société des Autoroutes Paris-Normandie.
 |
Sanef, which was created in 1963, had a turnover of close to 1.15 billion euros in 2005 and has 3600 employees. It is listed on the Eurolist of the Euronext in sector A (ISIN code: SNF).
|

The Sanef network directly or indirectly serves :
5 major European cities: London, Brussels, Luxembourg, Frankfurt and Strasbourg,
4 out of the 6 motorway access roads of the Ile de France,
5 main French ports: Le Havre, Dunkirk, Calais, Rouen and Boulogne-sur-Mer,
the Eurotunnel terminal at Coquelles and Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport, etc
It is therefore at the hub of international trade originating from the U.K., Germany and Benelux, which represents close to half of all the international trade between France and Europe.

The traffic structure is well balanced between the main axes of the Sanef network and offers alternatives to the North-South and East-West routes :
The network also has a diversified traffic structure broken down into :
Home-work journeys in the Ile de France and the major cities.
Long distance business and leisure journeys, particularly via the links with the various European countries.
Urban traffic: the A14 is the only urban toll motorway in the Ile de France.
Leisure traffic travelling to the coastal regions: Normandy, Picardy, Côte d'Opale.

Its vocation as a regional developer has prompted Sanef to invest in a number of key challenges :
Ending regional isolation encouraging the spread of services of local areas. |
Developing and enhancing the country's heritage while respecting the environment. |
Promoting the economic development of the territories crossed by the motorways (1 km of motorway in service creates from 3.5 to 4 jobs), bridging the technology gap thanks to its infrastructures and broadband telecommunications services, |
Adapting infrastructure to specific local features in terms of traffic structure and budget. |
